The Missouri Red Angus Association exists to promote the Red Angus breed and to foster cooperation and communication amongst Red Angus breeders and commercial producers in their state.
Their seeds tock operation has evolved from two Iowa kids showing steers and breeding heifers in 4-H to fifty plus years later with thousands of miles spent showing and marketing their program. They are located in the 4 state area of southwest Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
They are proud to offer some of the most elite Red Angus cattle in the State of Missouri, but also in the United States. Their goal is to produce Red Angus bulls and replacement females that will work for commercial and purebred breeders in their area, including show quality heifers.
One of their passions is helping juniors with show heifers and bulls. Juniors have had Grand Champions heifers in Fort Worth, San Antonio, the Arkansas State Fair and the State Fair of Texas. They had a heifer that was undefeated for two years in Oklahoma and a bull that was undefeated for two years in Arkansas. Not to be left out are all the county shows where juniors excel with their Red Angus.
They do not breed for extremes or any single trait, but maintain a balance of the most economically relevant traits. Their cattle have moderate frames, are structurally correct, easy fleshing, with high fertility and carcass value that fit today’s beef industry.
